Uncle Sam

Hello Everybody!! We've been busy working on the house. I managed to make three Uncle Sams to help ward off the oppressive Summer heat. Each photo is a separate doll.

Uncle Sam is NOT a pattern and is NOT available for copy.

I have been struggling to work on patterns the last few months and then found I was deliberately not making dolls because I didn't feel like making the pattern, so I decided to take a break from making new patterns. As many of you have followed me through the years, I get in this mood. I might start making patterns again and I may not, we'll see. Right now, this girl just wants to have fun ~~cue Cindy Lauper

Uncle Sam #A, B or C ~ Handmade Doll

Uncle Sam measures 23 inches tall from the top of his hat to the tips of his toes (legs dangling off). He measures 15.5 inches from the top of his hat to his bottom. He is made to sit.

I made him from canvas, painted him with acrylics and stained with a mixture of walnut ink, coffee and tea. I made his clothing from various fabrics. His beard and hair are flax fiber.

My dolls are not toys and intended for display only.

Freedom & Hekate measure 24 inches tall from the top of their crowns to the tips of their toes.    

PDF Pattern includes lots of full color photos, instruction and templates. Included are instructions on painting each of the doll's eyes.

Chicken Bock Bock

This pattern includes the templates for three sizes. Largest is 12 inches tall from his base to the top of his comb, the middle one is 9 inches tall and the smallest one is about 6 inches tall without the stand.

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone is doing well!    As many of you know, my husband and I have been working on a 1900's house and finally got moved the last of October.   We still have minor things to finish up.  Taking our time and trying to make it comfortable and feel like home.     It's such a relief to have my own creative space again and not in a tiny corner of an apartment bedroom!  We are loving it here. Angel Betty is my first doll in this new space.   I would like to introduce you to her.

Here is to new beginnings.  May you be happily blessed by good things to come.

Ambi & Enig (2-sided doll)

 ~Ambi & Enig~  Handmade Doll (2-sided)

Ambi & Enig is one doll with two sides (front and back).   She measures about 20 inches tall from the tips of her toes to the tips of her crown.  She is made to hang as a pendant/ornament.

I made her from heavy canvas and other various cotton fabrics.   Her face is painted with acrylics and detailed with thread.  I stained her with a mixture of walnut ink, coffee and tea.  I glittered her crown and added a touch of tinsel.   Her handmade pompom decorates the front of both sides of her dress, along with ribbons and a tag.  One tag reads "double double" and the other reads "toil and trouble".    I stitched little bells on her shoes.

Enig:  Enigma: 1: something hard to understand or explain. 2: an inscrutable or mysterious person. 3: an obscure speech or writing.

I made her from various cotton fabrics.   Her face is painted with acrylics, markers and some hand stitching. I stained her face with a mixture of walnut ink, coffee and tea.  Her hair is flax fiber roving and needlefelted to her head.  

Candy is designed and handcrafted by me. Signed and dated.

I made him from canvas.   I painted him with acrylics and stained with a mixture of walnut ink, coffee and tea.  I made his clothing is various fabrics.  His hair is flax fiber roving and needlefelted to his head and hooves.   His tag his  handstamped and  reads "Souls Wanted. Apply Within".
